Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti has criticised President Hashim Thaci's speech held last night at the extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council.
Kurti estimates that Thaci is not talking about territorial integrity, does not oppose the territorial exchange or the partition of Kosovo.
Kurti writes:
All President's Men
In his speech to the UN Security Council last night, Thaci indicated he has emerged from great winter loneliness.
He said: “in Kosovo, we remain committed to peace and dialogue with Serbia. To that end, the Kosovo Assembly last week adopted the resolution for dialogue and structure of the negotiating team, with positions of office and civil society involvement. ”
To continue with: “We are ready for dialogue. We are ready for difficult decisions. (...) I know it won't be easy at all. I know that the terms of this nature are not very popular. But they are essential. (...) With a final peace agreement Kosovo-Serbia legally binding, without borders on ethnic grounds, without exchange of populations, but with mutual recognition as independent and sovereign countries and states with multiethnic societies. ”
So Thaci is returning to the language of the summer 2018, before the grand mass protest of September 29th, is returning to the time when he spoke of painful co-operation and correction of borders.
Note carefully, now it speaks again of difficult decisions and disputes what it calls a population exchange, but it does not speak of territorial integrity and does not oppose the territorial exchange or partition of Kosovo.
Saturday evening's vote in the Kosovo Assembly bears historic responsibility for the return of Thaci and his market with Serbia at the expense of the state and the territory of Kosovo.
