US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the withdrawal of American troops from Syria will be the slow “”.
He reiterated his view of their success in fighting the Islamic State as an excuse for the withdrawal decision, broadcast KosovoPress. The Islamic State is almost gone. We will slowly take our soldiers home to be with the families, while fighting the rest of the Islamic State”, Trump writes on Twitter.
He recently announced the withdrawal of some 2,000 US troops deployed in northern Syria. These troops, mainly special forces, fought against the Islamic State and exercised local fighters in areas once held by jihadists. /Periscopi
