He vowed visa liberalisation would happen before the New Year, but neither did this promise go to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
While only a few hours remain until the end of the year, Haradinaj was earlier this month convinced that Kosovo would be granted visa liberalisation.
“We now have two requirements for the EU, we have normalisation of dialogue and visa liberalisation, these two are under way, this is not related to the tax. I believe we will get liberalisation, not too far before New Year's”, Haradinaj said on December 18th of 2018, at the Government's meeting, KHA.net reported.
On the other hand, there have been statements by EU officials themselves that liberalisation can be expected in 2020.
But widespread criticism came from officials, politicians and individuals towards the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue mediator Federica Moghrini, after it was said that when the 95 criteria required are met, liberalisation occurs. And the European Commission and the European Parliament have confirmed those criteria, but visa liberalisation did not happen this year either. /Periscopi
