106 deputies in the Kosovo Assembly have voted the draft law that transformed the Kosovo Security Force mission into the Army.
The Kosovo Assembly hearing has started by honouring all the fallen for the freedom of Kosovo, the prisoners, the students from fellow countrymen.
Members of KSF, now soldiers and a large number of media, have also been present in the Assembly Hall.
MPs have voted all independences for all three bills, thus making Kosovo with the Army.
MPs from the Kosovo Assembly have voted pro-registerment in transforming the Kosovo Security Force into the Army.
Through these bills, the KSF is transformed into a force with additional capacities, including defence responsibilities, but without changing its name.
The first review of Security Force Bills took place at the 18 October session, where they received 98 votes for, none against or abstention.
With NATO troops' entry into Kosovo in 1999, the transformation of the Kosovo Liberation Army into the Kosovo Protection Corps began, ending in 2000.
On February 2nd 2007, the special envoy for Kosovo's status, Martti Ahtisaari, submitted his proposal to Pristina and Belgrade, “Standards for Kosovo”, in which the dissolution of KPC was envisioned, and the creation of a new force.
The dissolution of the Kosovo Protection Corps is done with the reconciliation of all local and foreign relief factors.
On January 21, 2009, the Kosovo Security Force was established, which had the responsibility of facing serious disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, or fires that could threaten Kosovo.
So far, the KSF mission was to carry out crisis response operations in Kosovo and abroad; civil defence operations within Kosovo; and to assist civil authorities in response to natural disasters and other emergencies.
On March 4th 2014, the government at the time headed by Hashim Thaci had decided to form the Kosovo Armed Forces as the Kosovo Army.
