It's hard to make a decision on stopping phones in schools.

The big challenge is being considered by education connoisseurs, the realisation of the minister's decision -- thankful to Bytyqi for stopping the use of phones during the education process in all pre-university schools in the country. Scepticism increases the lack of space within schools that would enable the delivery of phones.

For these and many other reasons, the executive director of the Centre for Education in Kosovo, Dukagjin Pupovci, has said the ideal solution would be if students were allowed to carry the phone, but it would be unlocked and in the bag.

According to him, schools don't even have the human capacity for all those students to take away and keep their phones. He stressed, however, that the phone can be used very well and for educational purposes.

Unlike this deputy principal of primary school in Pristina, élena Gjikaı, Agnes Globoder said this minister's decision is necessary. According to her, the phone during the learning process has only caused deconcentation and obstruction.

Education Minister Shyqi says this decision has been made following major complaints he has received from school principals and students himself. According to him, the decision will have a positive effect on the development of the learning process because there will be more concentration and attention.

Minister Bytyqi stressed that implementation of this process will be provided by mechanisms the ministry will engage, such as the inspectorate working within the ministry.

For punitive measures, he said it would not be easy for those who do not respect the decision, adding that the phone could be confiscated.

Days earlier, Education Minister Shyqi said the decision would come into force after 15 December.

There are other countries in the region, including Albania, that have banned the use of telephones in school objects.
