Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has announced that during the day he has had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. He says he announced his approval of three military bills.
Haradinaj says to have guaranteed Stoltenberg, as one of the objectors of transforming KSF under the law for transparency in the process of transitioning security forces to the military.
Full letter of the prime minister:
Today, I have had a friendly telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, and I am satisfied with NATO's commitment to supporting Kosovo as a whole.
I was pleased to inform Secretary Stoltenberg of the Law's adoption of the Defence Ministry, KSF military mandate and KSF service.
I also informed him of the Kosovo Government's concrete action in establishing the Inter-Minist Committee for NATO Integration and Membership as a concrete development for Kosovo's approach to NATO.
I guaranteed Secretary Stoltenberg for transparency of the KSF Transition Process, expressing my vision and the Government's vision of deepening partnership with NATO, KFOR, NALT, Enlargement Programme and the readiness of KSF troops to contribute to regional and global security.
Kosovo will work closely with NATO to meet the full operational capacities of the KSF in the military mandate, as well as for joint commitment to providing security and defence.
