Germany has announced increased financial assistance to develop countries struggling with climate change, German Environment Minister Svenja Schulze said today.
Germany will increase financial assistance by 70m euros, which Schulze considers a “sybol to solidarity” . She also announced that Germany will double its contribution to the UN Green Climate Fund by 1.5m euros.
“Those who suffer most from climate change are those who have contributed less to its” change, the German minister said. She made these statements at the UN climate conference in Katovica, during which delegates from around 200 nations have focused on the processing of regulations for financing and application of the 2015 Paris Agreement.
