Bekim Colak, chief of the cabinet of the president of political adviser, told Radio Free Europe that the European Union has been and remains the mediator of Brussels' dialogue on normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia, but adds that Kosovo is also grateful to the US, whose “support is vital and irreplaceable for the progress made throughout the years”.
At the conclusion of the process, we consider US support and participation to be important for reaching a comprehensive agreement with Serbia. President Trump's letter is also a test and promotion of American support and dedication to this process “, says Colak.
In the letter US President Donald Trump sent to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, among other things, he expresses US readiness to help reach the “agreement that will respect the interests of Kosovo and Serbia”.
President Trump's “Lerra is hope and trust for the country's institutions. The letter is the voice of America, it is the complete and unique support of the United States for Kosovo and the region, so if someone has so far had hesitations about the role of the US, it gives evidence that the US is involved in the process”, President Thaci declared on Wednesday after meeting with other leaders of the Western Balkans, with European diplomacy chief Federica Mogherini in Brussels.
