The Kosovo Assembly last month adopted a resolution on the division of additions to all children in Kosovo between the ages of 0 and 16 years. According to this resolution, additions for children will be worth 10 euros.
In this case, politicians and those who proposed this resolution said the addition would take all children who meet that condition.
But an internal document of the Ministry of Labour on the pension system in Kosovo clears the way this social scheme will be integrated within the pension system, writes the Economic Bulletin. It envisions two ways in which this social scheme will be implemented, but for both, tough criteria about who the beneficiaries will be.
Based on this document, which is called “Concept-document for fixing and managing the field of pensions”, not all children up to 16 years will benefit from this social scheme.
According to the first proposed model, if a family has more than one child, then the additional value for the second child is 50 percent, for the third and for all the other 25 percent.
While the second approach applies, then the benefits will be only the children of households who have at least one person on the job and receive below 60 percent of the average of family income in Kosovo. In this case, I will receive only one child in one family, while the second child, if he has a 50 percent value and the third and others, will receive 25 percent of the value. /Economic Butletine/
