A day after confirmation by Johannes Hahn that liberalisation will not happen this year, Ministers List Hoxha has left for Brussels
Minister of European Integration is participating in the summit in Brussels, under the organisation of “Funds of Europe”, with the theme “EU-Western Balkans: Enlargement, integration and the challenges of transformation”.
The European integration process is one of the main goals of our country, as we have Europe's common values and principles, Minister Hoxha noted in the opening address.
There is no doubt that we are certainly the most pro-European country in Europe, Minister Hoxha argued, but the question is whether the European Union cares about making Kosovars feel part of Europe and its values, which does not appear.
Then, Minister Hoxha has cleared the visa issue.
“Sic is confirmed by the European Commission, Kosovo has fulfilled all 95 criteria from the guide provided in 2012. The European Parliament vote was very encouraging for us, pushing a step forward towards the final goal, which is the free movement of Kosovo citizens. Unlike other countries from the region, Kosovo had 95 criteria to meet -- the largest number of criteria. Kosovo has done its homework by fulfilling all 95 criteria that were not easy”, Minister Hoxha exclaimed.
About five months ago, the minister mentioned, the European Commission confirmed meeting the criteria from Kosovo and Kosovo has no results, even without reasonable explanations, why the EU is unable to keep its promise and respect its rules and procedures.
“for 20 years we believed that EU institutions would do everything they can to maintain our country's European perspective, both for the whole region, dynamic, concrete and reachable, but this seems impossible at this stage and you can imagine how depressing this is for our citizens”, the Minister Hoxha argued on how to believe in the EU enlargement process and consensus on enlargement with Western Balkan countries if the EU cannot provide technical answers as visa liberalisation.
Minister Hoxha expressed concern that Kosovo is the only isolated country in the Western Balkans, having alone The signed SAA, noting the minor likelihood that Kosovo will soon have a European perspective.
Kosovo is doing everything to meet EU standards, principles and values, yet it seems as though we are approaching the EU, and it is fleeing from us”, Minister Hoxha argued with the dangers of aggressive global politics to influence its agendas in the region, but also the capacities of the Western Balkans to resist that impact.
