The quake was recorded around 00:52 minutes and felt at a 25km radius in the Lacio region.
The Italian Institute of Geophysics reports that seismic swings had the era in the Gallicano municipalities of Colonna at a depth of 10km underground, Oranews reports.
The quake has been strongly felt by residents of Castel Romani, Palestine, Ostia and Casal Palocco, but also in the Roman neighbourhoods of Montesacro, Eur, Tor Vergata, Borghesiana, Torre Maura, Palestrina, Talent, Vermitino and throughout the eastern territory of the Italian capital.
The seismic swing has lasted about 10 seconds and numerous were calls to fire service from concerned citizens.
At present, no material or personal damage is recorded. The alarm was sounded at night and on social networks.
The quake's shocks have not stopped last night even in the region of Sicily.
Seismic swings are recorded overnight in the territory around the Etna volcano.
The number of residents left without residences has gone to 784 and a few hours ago, the Italian government has allocated a 10m-euro fund to help the population.
It is, respectively, 25 thousand euros that the Italian government has predicted in aid to any family whose residence has been damaged or collapsed by the December 26th quake.
