“A diamond of this size is totally unexpected in this part of the world and marks a historic moment for diamond mines in North America”, the company told “Mining. com”.
This precious stone is thought to be one of the 30 largest ever discovered.
The company said the egg-shaped jewel would not be sold in its gross form, rather “Domino” will seek partners to clean and cut stone.
South Africa holds the title for the largest diamond ever discovered, Cullinan diamond, which is 3 106 Karate, discovered in 1905.
