No high profile leader has gone to prison for being accused and followed by justice organs. For three years, only one case is cut out, and the convict is in prison on parole. Consequently, no State official has been convicted for over a thousand days. British Ambassador Ruair O'Connell had said he was ashamed of the results of the justice system. France's ambassador had said he has fought corruption to get Kosovars visa liberalisation.

Kosovo's Institute for Justice (IKD) in a report on high-level corruption cases has found that for three years no effective prison days has been given to those who have been prosecuted. In fact, only one high profile case, former mayor, is sentenced to parole.

Research shows that there is not yet a high profile official, who has been convicted of corruption with a formal conviction of effective prison sentences.

“IKD's findings testify that for three years (January 1, 2016) ; the courts have handled 58 indictments against high profilers, where only 12 of them have been charged during the time they were in power or held senior leadership positions, while 55 of them have been charged only after completing the mandate or having passed it to “isa<62>, the report says.

The ambassador of Great Britain, Mr. Ruairi O'Connell, when he saw these findings, said he felt ashamed of the organs of justice.

We know there's corruption, but we need to ask why isn't it being punished? Something that seemed interesting to me personally is statistics showing that only 12 high profile cases have been charged over time, another 55 cases have been charged only after the mandates were completed. Does this mean that power is serving as a shield from confrontations with the judiciary?
