The new constitution, which will replace it in 1976, will be submitted to the February 24th referendum of 2019.
Major changes in the new constitution include the non-recognition of communist society, though socialist nature of the political system is reaffirmed and the leading role of the Communist Party, the right to private property, the role of markets and the importance of foreign investments.
