Hillary and I mourn the death of President George H.W. Bush and we thank him for his work, love, and friendship in his wonderful long life.
I will always be grateful for the friendship we created. From the moment I met him as the new governor, invited to his home, I was amazed with his courtesy towards my daughter, Chelsea, and his devotion to Barbara, his children, and his entire family.
Very few Americans have been able to compare with his service to the United States and the satisfaction he felt from this job, including World War II military service, his work in Congress, the United Nations, China, the CIA, as vice president and as president, towards achieving unity, peace and freedom, a world just outside the Cold War.
He never stopped serving. I've seen this for a long time after we worked together in Asia and here after Hurricane Katrina. The remarkable Liberia and his large heart were always prominent.
I am deeply grateful for every minute I've spent with President Bush and will always maintain my friendship with him as one of the greatest gifts I have ever received.
Our hearts and prayers are for the entire Bush family, says the letter of comfort, writes <x0Huffington Post.
