Citizens in Pristina complain about snow sidewalks

Citizens seek the removal of snow and ice from the sidewalks, as they say they are threatened by various injuries.

The companies contracted by the municipality have cleared several roads and sidewalks, but there are others left with snow and ice.

Even in those spaces that have been cleared, the snow has not been completely removed. Since 2010, there is a regulation in the municipality, which obliges local owners and residents to remove snow from the sidewalks prior to the entrance of their facilities, writes Koha.net

However, the municipality says it is not respected by all. Despite this, the regulation has not undergone any changes over 8 years.

Various companies and citizens are obliged to accumulate snow and ice at the edge of the sidewalk during cleaning the surface, so that road maintenance companies can then remove it. There are many owners who respect this article, but not everyone. Thus, there are cases that companies responsible for road maintenance are also engaged on sidewalks when we have large quantities of snow”.
