Want to live and work in Canada? This dream can become reality as the Government of Canada has announced plans to accept more than one million immigrants in the next three years.

In the Annual Report for 2018 of the Ministry of Migration, Minister Ahmed Hussen unveiled plans to accept up to 1 million and 80 thousand permanent residents between 2019 and 2021.

Presenting the report, Hussen, who first came to Canada as a Somali refugee, said that “migrants and their offspring have made endless contributions to Canada, and our future success depends on the security that they are welcome and well integrated”, writes World Economic ForumHe's following in on Telegrafie.

According to the report, one in five people living in Canada has been born abroad, while more than six million new immigrants have arrived since 1990.

Migration is seen as the key to helping strengthen Canada's economy. As the new immigrant arrives, she can help resolve the challenges of an elderly population. The report says pensioners are expected to reach report 2 to 1 in 2036, compared to 4.2 to 1 in 2012.

With an aging and low birth rate, immigration plays an important role in ensuring that the population and the labor force of Canada continue to grow. Increasing immigration levels will help us to support our labour force, support economic growth and promote innovation”, the report says.

Canada is seen as a world leader in terms of its immigration policies, being considered the country with the most generosity and willingness to accept immigrants.
