However, the cost to trade relations between the two countries will depend on the pact on the break-off of Great Britain by the large European family, respectively, if the old rules for free trade remain at stake. If the agreement reached between Britain and the EU fails, businessmen fear the consequences would be very serious precisely because of the reduction in exports.

The “Britianics are known as a consumer people, yet the fact that there will be inflation in the future and lowering of local Bruto production will affect less and less spending. This would have a negative impact on producers and those exporting their goods to the United Kingdom. So the trade exchange would definitely sit”, said Irena Jakimovska, owner of “Komfi Angel”

Businesses that co-operate closely with the United Kingdom and that their goods export mainly to this country have already begun to seek new alternative markets.

The fact that we pursue inflation, reducing the PCV is an indication that we should be guided to alternative markets if it comes to lowering the trade exchange of our products. We are focused on finding new markets, one of the potential markets is the American market”, noted Irena Jakimovska, owner of “Komfi Angel”

Macedonia currently operates with European Union countries, within the framework of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, remains to be seen whether co-operation with the United Kingdom will proceed in that form or not. - What?

Its base of official trade data with the United Kingdom from January to September of this year has been 590m euros. In all, the value of exports has been 78m euros, while 512m euros in imports. On the other hand, direct investments from Great Britain by September of this year have been 23m euros.
