Border correction initiatives must be halted

Seting the tax on Serbian products coming to Kosovo has overshadowed the much-verbalised topic of border correction with Serbia. Security Affairs expert Nuredin Ibishi considers this idea to be a bad idea and must be stopped. He in an interview for Kosovo has said that this topic is not only [that]

He in an interview for Kosovo has said that this topic is not only dangerous for Kosovo, but poses danger for the entire region, as well as in a fragile situation according to it.

President Thaci's idea of correcting the borders for the Balkans and for Kosovo, according to Ibishi, is like the “Pandora's Kuttta”.

The subx0> The nationals always try to sanction the situation rather than resolve it eventually. They say, "Make arrangements, whatever they may be, we will stay behind them, if you like." But here I see a very dangerous issue. This is like the Kutt of Pandora, this opens, the situation continues in Bosnia, Macedonia and other countries. It means the fragile Balkans are troubled. I think this whole initiative is bad intention and should be stopped”, he said.

Stressing the high degree of risk posed by President Thaci's idea of border correction, Ibishi says it is better to have a frozen conflict in the north than to open up other issues.

It's better to have a frozen conflict in the north than to have more cases opened to us. Serbia will only begin to shake Kosovo's borders in the form of a deal and then penetrate into the inside, in terms of searching for other concessions that are unstable to us. But, this will not only affect Kosovo, the report in Macedonia, probably intervenes in Montenegro, let's not say Bosnia is very much an impulsive form, especially after what Serbian nationalist forces won with the ethnicity of the Republika Srpska-s”, Ibishi stressed.

He has also spoken of the security mechanisms that Kosovo has, where he has said it is good luck that the latter have been created in a democratic manner, but that he stresses that the latter are in the reform phase and not in full capacity.

And that the situation is not good, according to him, even Serbia's recent maneuvers at points close to Kosovo testify.

Because of this, and other circumstances in which the country is located, Ibishi says international presence in Kosovo is necessary.

“International Home Security Partnership, but military too from external risks must be ongoing in Kosovo. While the situation seems calm and stable, in essence are the most obvious threats, especially from Serbia, now that developed and called post-World War I, which are the biggest maneuvers in the region recently and surprisingly has not met in any critical voice either by institutions or by internationals because maneuvers conducted in a country like that are Serbia, in a neighbouring state, may have poor warnings, in sense that every time it is a threat to a state that we have failed reports, unpolluted, or 33x> he said.

As if the harmful Serbian policy for Kosovo were not enough, it also lists Russian influence as one of the problems facing the region and Kosovo.

It is constantly being supplied by Russia and other countries as well. I see Russian influence in yet another way, there is also a policy system, the soft system of influence through the media, especially Russia Today, and the multi-ethnic affecting global aspect, breaking out different bad news about Kosovo, as part of Serbia, as unstable, country with leadership and so on... I see Russia as a major danger to the region as well, and especially to Kosovo. The EU must also be careful here, and NATO”, he said.

All in the end, the security affairs expert has also spoken of the Serbian List, which he says represents no voice of the citizens of Kosovo since it is completely informed by Belgrade.

“Shouldn't be wasted any time on what position the Srpska list has. It will be what Serbia's interest is because it does not really convey the voice of the Serb community in Kosovo”, he said. /N. Jakupi.
