Senior state officials, in addition to their regular job salary, also receive disability pensions, but on the other hand, citizens are failing to enjoy similar benefits because the state forbids double pensions.
According to official data, during October alone, the Ministry of Labour and Social Management (MPMS) has banned the dual benefits of 192 persons.
The head of the Department of Pensions at the Ministry of Labour, Bahri Xhaferi, in a proposal given to the newspaper “Voice” has clarified that the legal framework is such that no citizen in Kosovo can afford more than one pension, Zeri writes.
Xhaferi has indicated that during 2016 alone, 4 thousand and 400 people have stopped pensions, while by October of this year, 192 double pensions have been banned. We've had 192 cases in October that we've suspended their double pensions. They have been pensioners of the Kosovo Security Forces and former KSF members and Protection Corps.
