Anti-tax Moghrin, pro change of borders

European diplomacy chief Federica Moghrini has not ruled out the possibility of changing borders between Kosovo and Serbia, but has stressed that a possible correction should not be based on ethnic lines. The result should not be [...]

The result, regardless of which adoptions the parties would agree to in the future, should not be the ethnic cleansing of the countries. In any case, both countries must remain multiethnic” has said Moghrin.

She made these statements after today's meeting of European Union Foreign Ministers. The diplomatic chiefs of EU member states discussed the situation in the Western Balkans, but most of the time discussed normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

Moghrin ordered both countries that it is “in their responsibility the future of dialogue for normalising relations”.

We offer them help, space and advice, but it is on their side to determine the speed and result of the” dialogue has said Moghrini.

She acknowledged that the dialogue is currently in “difficulties” and the reason for this, among other things, cited the fee the Government of Kosovo has set for Serbian and Bosnian goods.

Moghrin reiterated the call to Pristina institutions to withdraw the decision on the fee to goods from Serbia and Bosnia.

Despite all, the chief of European diplomacy showed hope that an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is still possible.

Foreign ministers of EU member states have concluded that dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade is blocked, confirmed after the meeting, Croatia's Foreign Minister, Marija Pejcinovic Buric. (REL)
