United States President Donald Trump chose State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert to the post of US ambassador to the United Nations.
Trump made the announcement to reporters at the White House.
Nauert, former mid-modern and TV correspondent ABC and Fox News, will succeed Nikki Haley, who has announced in October that she will leave her post at the UN at the end of the year.
It's brilliant. She has been with us for a long time”, Trump told reporters on November 1st, when he announced he is considering Nauert's appointment.
Nauert's appointment, 48, is an unusual choice for the diplomatic post, as it has no preliminary experience in policymaking.
