The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, even during 2019, will continue in various forms to support the agriculture and rural development sector, but the ministry's two most important instruments of policy will be the Rural Development Programme and the Direct Taxation Programme. The budget for these two development programmes for next year is scheduled to be 50.7m euros.
So said today at the Parliamentary Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Environment and Spatial Planning, where, before the members of this commission, KPSHR Deputy Minister Mevludin Krasniqi, ministry Secretary General Kaplan Halimi, and U.d. Chief Chief of Agriculture Development Agency(AZHB), Ekrem Gjokaj.
Deputy Prime Minister Mevludin Krasniqi has indicated that the budget for the total agriculture ministry for 2019 will be around 61.4m euros. Meanwhile, through the planned budget for development programmes, which this budget amounts to over 50m euros, he said it is aimed at boosting agricultural production, boosting the competitiveness of the agrosal sector, and generating new jobs, contributing directly to the country's economic development and improving life in rural areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture, in recent years, has supported the agriculture and rural development sector with subsidies and investment grants. These ministry investments, through the Education and Rural Development Programme for 2019, are scheduled to be worth 25.7m euros, while ministry investments through direct payments are planned to be around 25m euros”, Deputy Minister Krasniqi has said.
It has shown that from year to year, the number of investor grants beneficiaries increased, showing that from 403 beneficiaries in 2014, where the number in 2018 has reached more than 600 beneficiaries, which according to him shows once more the ministry's support for agriculture sector development.
On the other hand, UKPHR Secretary-General Kaplan Halimi has indicated that all development programmes of the ministry are being monitored by their implementation, in which case he has also told about the recent decisions of the MBPHR minister for field controls to see agricultural projects implemented. He has said that during the next year, this ministry has also planned millions of investments in irrigation systems, which he said would affect improving and facilitating agricultural activities throughout the country.
Meanwhile, AZHB Chief Chief Chief Ekrem Gjokaj has launched implementation of the subsidies and grants programme this year.
Also, during this commission meeting, representatives of the MBPZHR have answered the questions of members of this commission, which were related to general developments in the agriculture sector in the country.
