Zaev: We guarantee nothing of Albanian in the Constitution

The debate over the draft amendment to the Preambula change was concentrated in the direction of Preambula modernisation. The ASH chairman Ziadin Sela requested that the country's multiethnic character be reflected in Preambula as well. The Sela also called for the removal of the 20 per cent definition, comparing the current constitution with the constitutions of the former Serbian-Croat-Slovenian kingdom.

The sentence begins with: Citizens of Macedonia, the Macedonian people and the Macedonian people, as well as other citizens living at its borders who are part of the Albanian people -- that is, after the Macedonian people -- to continue the Albanian people, the Vlach people, Turks, Roma, Serbs, Bosniaks and others. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stressed that all recommendations will be considered, but that does not mean they will be accepted.

VMRO-DPMNE MP Ilija Dimovski demanded that three historical documents, including the 1878 war Constitution, be included in Preambula.

These three proposals: The regulation of the Macedonian uprising committee from 1878, the secret constitution of the Macedonian revolution written by Goce Dellchev and Gjerce Petrov and the 1991 Constitution as the first legal document for the constitutionalisation of Macedonia's independent and sovereign state, I think they deserve their place in Preambulla as we have begun to expand and introduce documents like the Ohrid Agreement”, Dimovski said.

Zaev promised that the proposal would be consulted by experts.

“It's about uprisings and wars our multiethnic people have led, Macedonia was always multi-ethnic, and people have participated in our uprisings. Some issues will be said by experts with whom we will consult for these three proposals”, he said.

The Preambula bill envisions KAKM's decisions being changed to KAKM's proclamations and the Ohrid Agreement included. The latter, according to the Government, is applications in a large part of the Constitution, and they now add only the term Ohrid Agreement. /AlsatM/
