Xhavit Haliti vs Thaci for borders, does not expect visa liberalisation this year

The ideas of Albanians and Serbs to join the lands they have historically recognised are outdated ideas. Therefore, a referendum in Kosovo to unite the Republic Valley is stable and unnecessary. Thus says Kosovo Deputy Speaker Xhavit Haliti, under whom currently in politics must be shown [...]
So says Kosovo Deputy Speaker Xhavit Haliti, under whom currently in politics should be shown rationality. In an interview given to Kosovo priss, Xaviti speaks of the idea of mending borders, the visa liberalisation process and dialogue with Serbia. The latter says that this political approach will never have final agreements, so according to him, dialogue would have to be left in the hands of the United States of America.
The deputy head of the Assembly says that the demarche of the border between Kosovo and Serbia should be marked, and the same vote will be made in Serbia when they recognise Kosovo's independence.
But according to him, there should be no agreement on exchange for territories in this form as discussed in the opinion.
I don't think we should have agreed on this exchange of territories in the format that is being discussed in the media... I haven't seen any document about what this correction of the border, of the border line, but I know that this demarcation has to be done and that it should be voted in Serbia, maybe as soon as they recognise Kosovo's independence and maybe a commission that marks the border should be established. Although the data is that the border is the 774, the border is the one Kosovo has been recognised internationally at the International Court in The Hague, it has been recognised by the Ahtisaari agreement, and the NATO bombings and war in Kosovo has been made to free territories which, in turn, have been the very limits of Kosovo that have been in 74, so any deviation from this I think brings consequences to Kosovo, then it brings consequences to reports with many countries that can react and act at the expense of our interests, it is better that we are all cautious, he says.
Xavit Haliti of The PDK, it says Kosovo has a guarantee of territorial integrity.
According to him, there should be talks with Serbia, but not for borders, but to see what we should get and what to give. As he says, the deals are such, take away”.
“We have guaranteed territorial integrity and this territorial integrity guarantee NATO forces, and if they consistently guarantee it, while it is then that the citizens of Kosovo do not need to worry about other issues, and if Serbia is hasty, we are willing to wait for Serbia until it takes its interests to the table in the process to recognise Kosovo's independence. The arguments that could be held, or negotiations that could be held on terms of terms that are open, but not on borders, I am for the talks to continue and there are conveniences for both sides, to see what we should get and what we should give, because the agreements are such, get '%e gives it is this work”, he says.
As for the idea of Kosovo's president, whom Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac join the Republic of Kosovo, Haliti says such ideas are outdated.
According to him, a possible referendum in Kosovo on this topic is unnecessary and meaningless.
Haliti says such a referendum would be required in Serbia, but that it would be failed.
The International Union has taken into account the issues dealing with these earlier ideas of Albanians, as it does with the former Serbian ideas, because they are willing and struggling to get out in Durres, the border is then historically assigned to Durres Serbia, emerging in hot waters, emerging in the Adriatic Sea, and these are old ideas for us and for them. A referendum in Kosovo -- whether Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac join Kosovo -- seems to me stable and unnecessary because they are territories currently within the Republic of Serbia. And they could seek to make a referendum there, and that referendum under Serbia's laws should be held in the entire Republic of Serbia, and it would be a failed referendum. I give for more rational policy on the issues dealing with this”, he says.
He says that currently in politics they should be more rationing on such issues.
According to Xhavit Halit, Kosovo and Serbia will never reach final agreements with this political approach.
According to him, the question of dialogue would have to be left to the United States and the European Union.
I am going to leave the issue of the agreement with the United States of America, and the European Union in order to close them down, cut us down and put the documents ahead and tell us both sides sign it. If that never happens to this political approach that Kosovo has, even Serbia, we cannot reach easily. Only mutual pressure and interest will bring the situation to the point where the International Community would probably wish, and it would be in the interest of both sides to pave the way for the European Union”, he declares.
In the interview for Kosovo Press, Kosovo Deputy Speaker Xhavit Haliti has also responded to the visa liberalisation process.
He has expressed sceptical of the quick outcome of this protracted process.
“I have been consistently skeptical about visa liberalisation, we have more than 10 years to say that at the end of the year we have visa liberalisation, even this year we're saying that at the end of the year we're going to have visa liberalisation, but I've heard the EU representative say no dates and don't speak in the name of visa liberalisation, and don't guarantee citizens, now we're lying when we're guaranteeing”, he says.
Haliti says some EU states oppose becoming visa liberalisation for Kosovars, according to him, the main blame is the desire of Kosovars to migrate abroad to seek refuge in European Union countries. Since, as he says, there are issues that cost each country to go.
But Haliti says it is not in the interest of the Republic of Kosovo to allow Kosovars to seek a better life in other countries.
