Khaltmaagin Battulga holds the black belt in Judo, and as the coach of the Judo team he has given the country a gold medal.
“and what will you do if Parliament does not accept your proposal to be disbanded?” “I'm going on a hunger strike, and I mean seriously. If necessary, I will protest before parliament. ”
So Mongolia's president, Khaltmaa Battulga, responded to Mongolian television journalist C1, following the country's political crisis.
In Mongolia, financial misappropriations have been published by some of the deputies, who themselves and members of their families have been granted loans at very low interest rates from the fund that was founded to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
MPs and their relatives apparently had no business. Batulga saw that this is the right time to maximize his efforts, forcing parliament to disperse, and to go to early elections, in which his Democratic Party will win immediately and allow him to rule Mongolia as he wants. That's why he's willing to go on a hunger strike.
Khaltmahin Battulga is one of the populists who came to power in recent years in the wake of economic problems, exploiting dissatisfaction with the current situation and public fears for the future.
It was not easy for him, as last summer elections were the first since 1993 to enter the second round. Almost nine percent of voters handed in empty ballot papers. And Battulga got the message and started the policy of “helping the poor”. This provoked controversy because it cannot be called poor at all and considered the world's most dangerous president because of physical strength.
While at school, he attended classes for talent and body strengthening. In fact, his father was the national wrestling coach, and Battulga was a member from 1979 to 1990. This allowed as long as Mongolia was ruled by Communist power, to travel the world.
He also learned Judo, which later enabled them in politics by opening the door to another East military art fan, Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 1990 Mongolia passed through the democratic system, and former Secretary of State John Kerry preferred that this country be called “oza of democracy” between Russia and China.
The Batulga did not wait and become an entrepreneur: he started selling sewing jeans. He won $600 and then launched a new import-export venture. From Singapore he imported electronic devices to Mongolia and Russia. Work went very well, and the next president founded Genco Company. This could not have been the best recommendation for entering the business world, since it was called a company founded by Vito Corleone in the classic “Godbarra”.
Genco was very successful: founded the first taxi service in Mongolia, opened a chain of Sapporo shops, led a lottery, restaurant and nightclub, a factory and an oven. In privatisation, hotels and meat processing factories have been purchased.
There were also specific problems in that plan, so Batulug had to leave the country for six months to defend himself against charges of illegal importing alcohol. And then he decided to devote himself to politics, but before that, he built a amusement park and a great sculpture of famous conqueror Jingis Khan, to confirm his commitment to national tradition and the desire to be a new khan.
Jingis-Trump
The Parliament was elected in 2004, 2008, and finally in 2012. When the third term ended, he decided to become president. During the campaign, he did not hide Putin as an idol: “It is easy to communicate, because we are both jungles,” he said.
This proved to be a winning strategy, as Mongolia from its two big neighbours preferred Russia. It was represented in public as Donald Trump: a successful businessman who wants to help the nation.
In order to crack down on the determined political elite and root out corruption, forgetting that it too follows the voice as a supporter of corruption, Batuluga promised to heal the economy during the campaign. His populism went to the peak, promising to ensure that all Mongols will pay their debt with the help of the proceeds from the sale of the mining treasure. So far, he has failed this strategy.
That's why he went on a tour of all provinces to meet people, as some heads of state like, reassuring them that he would meet all needs, only gain parliamentary power, where opposition government and bring it down, is also ready for a hunger strike.
