A Mexican deputy has burst into tears and screams during a parliamentary session after receiving a phone call announcing that her daughter had been killed.
The MP, Carmen Medel Palmas, was told on the phone that her 22-year-old daughter, Valeria Cruz Medel, had been shot nine times while she was in the gym.
After receiving the bitter news, the 59-year-old started screaming and screaming loudly saying “not my daughter,”, while her colleagues stood by her to comfort her.
Valerie Cruz Medel, a medical student, had been shot to death in the city of Mendoza in the state of Veracruz. He was confused with the girlfriend of a criminal group member.
