Through a post in “Twitter” the head of the Greek government writes: “State and Church have the maturity, wisdom and sensitivity to accept the rationalisation of their relations. The time has come for the Greek state's religious neutrality to be inexplicably in the Constitution, with regulatory and practical implications”.
We remember Tsipras coming from the left-wing Syriza party, and he wants this movement to benefit politically. His rival, New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has voiced opposition to the church-sharing decision.
