The decision to raise the tax on Serbian and Bosnian products has caused trucks with goods from these two states to return.
Just since the decision was made yesterday until this morning, Dogana has made it known that there were only truck returns.
Kosovo Customs spokesman Adriatic Stavileci has said that trucks that have been entering the terminal after making the decision have returned.
He has made it known that 17 truck returns so far.
And so far, 17 of them have returned, which, after receiving new tax information, has been returned to”, Stavileci said.
Customs spokesman has also clarified the way this tax should be paid.
He has said that the importer, in this case businessmen from Kosovo, must pay this tax, which is imposed by the Government of Kosovo.
“The importer has not been recently paid. He orders the stuff to come to everyone, but when the payments get out, 10 thousand euros, 10 thousand dollars, then taxes, plus VAT, and it gets a lot. And yesterday we had only returns”, Stavileci told Inseder.
He has also announced that this decision is being implemented precisely by Dogans.
The Kosovo Government's decision to raise the 100 % for products imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Kosovo is being fully implemented on all customs provisions”, the Adriatic Stavileci for Inseder concluded.
The government's decision has prompted Sarajevo to have sharp reactions in Belgrade.
Trade ministers in these two states have said it would hinder free trade.
