Thaci calls on Kosovo politicians: Facing With Serbia

President Thaci issued this statement after the trilateral meeting he had in Brussels with the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Senior Representative Federica Moghrini and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.

President Thaci has invited the entire political scene in Kosovo to join and come to Brussels to be as powerful as possible in the face-to-face dialogue Serbia, which, as he said, is not easy in dialogue.

I can say again that it is a challenge not easy with all of Serbia's device, to confront here and in other spaces. For this reason, I think it is of interest that the entire Kosovo political scene takes courage, energy, determination, to come here to confront everyone, and to make progress, so that it is a process of comprehensive, acceptable agreement and I can say that it is a new moment that needs to be exploited, is a historic opportunity for recognition of Serbia to take place on Kosovo”, Kovo's president said.

He also stated that he wants to hope on the will and energy of people in Kosovo, of political parties, civil society, the media, as it is the moment of confrontation and overcoming this major obstacle called Serbia and Alexander Vuciq, facing an arrogant offensive of them in relation to the state of Kosovo.

“Discursion was aggressive and arrogant by Serbia's delegation and Aleksandar Vuciq, while our discour was of arguments and the right to reach balanced agreements, which would imply mutual recognition, and Kosovo's membership in the UN, also with real possibility of replacing Resolution 1244. So they're sensitive and large, these in front of us in the days and weeks to come. So I remain hopeful that with an even broader political basis, Kosovo as it has managed earlier will make it this time”, said President Thaci, Kosovas Preress.

He also stated that the position of the Kosovo side is clear, where dialogue has no alternative, while other options are isolation and confrontation.

“Dialogue has no alternative, other options are isolation, confrontation and nationalist voices, populist of instability, incidents, so the position of the state of Kosovo will be in line with state interest, citizens, the possibility of reaching a”, the president said.

Asked of the Serbian president's ultimatum, Vuciq, President Thaci stated that dialogue and negotiations do not go either with ultimatum, nor with aggressive voices, “what I mean by the position of the state of Kosovo we will be responsible, constructive harvests, but very determined on the realisation of Kosovo's aspiring and right to a legally binding agreement, on the international level. I emphasise the major goal is to make mutual recognition and Kosovo membership happen, after that agreement at the UN. That would be a miracle”
