Yesterday, Congress elections were held in America, and some of the winners broke the barriers while over 100 women were elected.

This is the first time she ran and started the campaign while working as a waitress. In June, in the election for congress in several districts, she won 57% of the vote and even won a circuit she did not intend to run.

The daughter of an immigrant from Puerto Rican, Ocasio-Cortez, has campaigned for everything from the removal of immigration laws to public universities for free. She also worked earlier as an organiser for Bernie Sander's presidential campaign.

When I started, I thought I wouldn't win. Especially when I was at the beginning, there are a lot of people who say <x1... who are you? You're just a waitress running for Congress” That was true. Who did I think was me? When so many people say that, you can dive. Our society reduces people to the amount of money they make and their professional position, which is very demoralizing. I knew I was a tutor, I knew I was an organizer... I knew what we were doing was right. I was always convinced that what I was doing was the right thing. But it took months, months, and months to convince myself and convince others that I was the right choice”, Alexandria told “Ele”.
