Under the election rule, extraordinary and early elections cannot be held earlier than 30 days and later 40 days after the breakup, respectively, following the circumstances that have affected holding extraordinary elections.
But, according to the Serbian resolution, even if the municipality remains without leadership and elections are announced, they will boycott them.
The chairman of the Electoral Commission, Valdete Daka, has said that it is usually taken this way, but so far it has not been announced for this action of these mayors.
So far, however, only one of them has officially resigned. In a response to T7, the Ministry of Management of Local Power have said only Zubin Potok's chairman has resigned.
According to them, the mayor's duties will exercise the deputy chairman.
As for the elections from MAPLA, they said they would co-ordinate actions with the President's Office to announce elections, only for the municipality of Zubin Potok.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj during the day did not comment on the resignations of the mayors of the northern municipalities.
Asked by the media, Haradinaj said he would be promoted tomorrow.
While members of the Commission for Legislation have discussed the resignation of the heads of Serbian municipalities in the country's north.
MP Arben Gashi, from the Democratic League of Kosovo, has said the government has had to plan if the resignations of the mayors of the northern municipalities occur.
We're dealing with a subject we still have no groundline. We have partial processes. Kosovo's government has to plan this situation after all, because when there is an action there is also a reaction. If the government didn't plan it, then we have an adventure of”.
MP Bilall the Sheriff, from the Social Democrat Initiative, estimated the situation has been roughed up.
“Situate has been toughed after Interpol's history and the measures that have been taken. We all know it's political action to preserve dignity. Kosovo has not hit but has countergodes, it has been protected from actions Serbia has taken against the sovereignty of Kosovo. What everyone's ever seen is that it's done on self-guard”.
While Parliament Speaker Kadri Wessel praised that the decision to resign is hasty and harmful.
And LDK chairman Isa Mustafa, through a Facebook post, has said that the state is not kept in folklore, so it should be taken care of for the actions and decisions of the state.
Mitrovica's northern leader, Goran Rakiq, Leposaviqi's Zoran Todiq, Zubin Potok's chairman, Stevan Vulovic, and Zvecan chairman Vucina Jankovovic have stopped all communication with Kosovo institutions.
