You may sound like a joke, but it's true: Death is forbidden in this city

Sounds incredible, but it's true. There's a place in the world where death is forbidden, in fact, is not alone. That means that if you've had a serious accident, or you're too sick or you're ready to die, they take you out of town and send you to another [...]

We are talking about the Norwegian town of Longyearbyen, located on the island of Svalbard (Arcipela of Spitsbergen), between the continent of Norway and the North Pole. According to its demographic data, this country is considered the planet's northernmost solution, and its population is slightly over 1,000 people.

This country is not only marked by the cold climate, long nights, polar bears, and the presence of the World Seed Bank but also by a very special law that prevents people from dying in Longyearbyen territory. The reason?

According to the Daily Mail, the law was passed in 1950, after it was discovered that bodies buried in local cemetery did not decay because of the cold. If the bodies do not digest, there is the danger of spreading viruses and diseases, and this also attracts predators.

For these reasons, if a person has an accident or suffers from a serious illness, they fly him to another location. And if someone dies in the village, then his body also goes to another part of Norway.
