Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sililä said Russia could be involved in the situation with failures in the work of the GPS system during the NATO exercise.
This system is easy enough to disable and it is possible that Russia is behind this. This is a message for all countries participating in military exercises”, says Sililä.
He explained that operating the system has been deliberately sabotaged and that Russia owns all the means for such an act.
Sililä believes Finland's participation in NATO military exercises has caused disappointment in Russia. He stressed that violating the GPS work system increases the risk of air accidents, and warned Finnish officials to be well prepared for such incidents.
According to the media, the main failures of the GPS system in Finland were registered on Friday, November 9th. Norway also reported similar shortcomings. The two countries believe Russia is involved in this situation and plans to conduct an investigation into the case.
Interestingly, the previous day the Norwegian Navy frigate “Helga Ingstad” crashed into a Greek tank and sank halfway across the road. This is not surprising considering that the volume of tankers is more than 110 thousand tons, and the volume of the frigate is 5,290 tons.
It is known that the tank for some reason had stopped the transpond, which after a crash suddenly began to operate. It is possible that Russia will be blamed for this. In one video, however, it is evident that the ship was damaged on the right, meaning that it was the blame of sailors who had to make the way for the ship that came out of their right.
Nothing is said about Russia's alleged involvement in the functioning of satellite GPS systems during NATO military exercises that end this week.
Ditmir Peskov, the Russian president's press secretary, said there is a tendency for Russia to blame for all the fatals and other sins for which there is no evidence.
