Respect for human rights required in Kosovo

Labour and Social Management Minister Skender Recica said that this minister is implementing the law on categories removed from the war, including victims violated during the recent war in Kosovo.
“To implement these, Kosovo has split the budget, four organisations are involved. The commission has been operational and operating since February 5th. 827 people have so far applied to recognise their status”, Recica said.
According to Recica, the process of verifying persons raped during the war was a very long process.

While Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Abduselim Shkodra said that in co-operation with the Kosovo Police, numerous actions have been taken to prevent human rights violations.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has drafted plans for repatriated children. There are about 3400 repatriated children who are involved in the” scheme, Shkodra said.

Ombudsman Hilmi Jashari said that since 2015 they have continued to recommend Kosovo institutions for respect for human rights. ” In all, there are 132 recommendations, where 11 are implemented”, he said.
