Region states debate agriculture, rural development

This is the 12th consecutive meeting, and this year has been organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of Macedonia, and the Permanent Urban Development Work Group (SWG) in Southeast Europe.
During this meeting, agriculture ministers from Southeast Europe are discussing future developments in the agriculture and rural development sector in the SEE region and will review the process of regional co-operation in specific areas.
In his speech, UKPHR Deputy Minister Mevludin Krasniqi has said that regional co-operation is of particular importance for development and advancement of the agriculture sector.
Kosovo's “government remains committed to contributing as much to strengthening SWG's role and initiatives as possible and undoubtedly to other new initiatives that help to bring us closer together. The economy is what should unite us, put aside differences, and be a common commitment to a greater development of Southeast Europe. We have a lot of work to do and we have to support each other to develop and strengthen the stable agricultural policy system”, he said.
Furthermore, during this meeting the deputy minister has also told about investments in the past years of the MBPZHR under the agriculture sector, stressing that these investments have also affected economic growth in the country.
Part of this meeting are agriculture ministers from Albania, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, senior representatives of the European Commission, FAO and GIZ.
