Public debt above 1 billion euros

“The unpaid and accounting obligations, the unpaid obligations of budgetary organisations to economic operators at the end of the year have been 200 million, 170m central-level, 30 million municipal-level. In addition to these obligations, there are also some accounting or potential obligations which are the result of court indictments and are expected to receive epilogue, the amount of these possible obligations is 140m euros, 76 at the central level and 66m at the local level. So these two types of obligations if they are realised amount to 340m euros that can pressure the Kosovo budget”, he said.

He announced that the 9 public companies that were audited last year have a total of 95m euros in loans, he said their liquidative capacity for returning these loans is weak.

The deputy chairman of the Commission for Public Finance Monitoring, Mergim Lushtaku, has presented the recommendations they made regarding the audit report.
