The Sharr region still faces existential problems as a result of the irresponsibility of local governments and the continued disregard of governments at the central level.
The Social Democrat Party, with its policies for better social redistribution and decentralisation on socioeconomic needs, remains the right option for Sharrin, who is paying the cost of the neoliberal policies of post-war governments in Kosovo, which deepened the fundamental inequalities and plunged even more into the periphery, the most underdeveloped areas of the Republic.
The supply of drinking water and the quality of water remain problems of this municipality, in spite of its many water sources. Persistent degradation of the environment and public spaces, lack of investment, as well as the poor state of infrastructure; they are making daily and more difficult the everydayity of local residents, with great potential in natural resources.
The now active Social Democrat Party in Sharr is precisely the possibility of developing progressive public and environmental policies, with the direct participation of citizens in decision making.
