Pristina municipality spokesman Adonis Tahiri has declared they are in the qualifying phase for selecting the economic operator that will invest in the project. According to him, during the consortium they are in the race for underground parking lots in Pristina. He also said that this parking lot will have the capacity to park 500 to 900 cars, while the plan is to build the central park on it. According to Tahiri, this parking lot, which is expected to be completed within 18 months, will greatly facilitate road traffic in the capital.
But the connoisseur of road traffic issues, Muhamed Krasniqi, who says that building parking lots in the centre of the city will create even more difficulties in traffic.
According to him, first there should be a solution to how to navigate vehicles into parking lots and then build this parking lot, since if the reverse happens, adverse conditions will be created for car drivers. Even architect Ilir Djindolli believes that a poor plan about building underground parking lots at the Faculty of Philology, the capital could cost to create tollovs in traffic.
Ginorley has advised the municipality to be careful about the plan for this parking lot, as he said such a parking lot should contribute to the public life of the capitals. While the largest opposition party in Pristina's Municipal Assembly, The LDK, building the underground parking lot at the Faculty of Philology, has considered it a failed project, as it is still not known how much municipalities will invest in this public-private project.
Assemblywoman from the LDK ranks, Fiknet Bata thinks malmanagement is the weak spot of Shpend Ahmeti's government. Although they consider it necessary to create as many parking lots as possible in Pristina, residents of the capital are disagreeing with the space where the underground parking lot is selected.
Mirsad Morina says such a parking lot is not necessary in the middle of town. He suggested such a parking lot would be done in Ulpiana County. Even Ekrem Marevci agrees that the area where the underground parking lot is selected is not appropriate.
He even says that the entire road infrastructure in the capital is unplanned due to a lack of vision on the issue on the part of leaders so far. However, the construction of this parking lot in the centre of the capital has welcomed Ekrem Krasniqi, who said parking lots in the capital should be added.
Otherwise, the Pristina municipality for the construction of the underground parking lot has divided an area of 13,990 square metres at the Faculty of Philology and money to be built on 2 stages.
