The price for home consumers has remained unchanged even after the amendment of the heating supply agreement between the central heating company “Termos” and the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK).
At the seventh meeting, held on October 15, 2018, the Energy Regulatory Office Board ( ZRERE has approved maximum access (HLM) and tariffs for the regulatory year/18-2019 heating season for the company “Termokos”.
HLMs approved for “Termocos” are worth 6,619,973 euros and the tariffs reflected by these revenues, for Termokos” have resulted in housing consumers, 78 cents per square metre, and for commercials and industrials 97 cents per square metre.
During the eighth gathering of the ZRE Board, it is decided not to change electricity tariffs for households and to have a 5 per cent discount of electricity prices for industrial, commercial and public lighting consumers.
The 5 per cent discount decision on the price of electricity for industrial and commercial consumers will also affect lower central heating for these subjects.
“On a regular periodic basis NQ “Trmokos” is handed over to ZRE regulatory mirrors, under which ZRE has decided that for this heat season, there will be a reduction of about 5 per cent for business subjects, which are billed by thermal energy measurements, while the tariffs for residential subjects, which are met in square meters remain unchanged”, the Uka-Fej Allah said.
The decision on these tariffs has come into effect on the ZRE Board's approval date and is being implemented by NQ “Termokos” from October 15th 2018. These fees will be in effect until the next review of the fee.
Aferdita Uka Fejzullahu, spokeswoman at NQ “Trmokos” has said that the amendment of the supply agreement between NQ “Termokos” and KEK is obliged to make new agreements each year in terms of the steam price taken by KEK.
However, these changes to the deal do not reflect on the price of central heating tariffs per square metre”, Uka Fyzullahu has said for Calxo.com.
The Kosovo Energy Corporation's heat supply agreement has been renewed until October 15th, 2022. The first agreement between KEK and NQ “Termokos” was signed in 2014 with a length of three years.
The two main points which have been amended in the new agreement are extending the deadline of the agreement and the price of thermal energy.
In the agreement signed in 2014, heating fees have been referred to the price of electricity.
At the time KEK has not been deregulated but has been regulated by ZRE and the electricity generation rate for KEK is set by ZRE.
That deal had two components, the component for capacity and energy quantities.
With market liberalisation KEK no longer regulates the ZRE price, so the price refers to the price which the Universal Service provider now receives ( FShU KESCO.
This price changes every time the price of the KEK deal is changed to FSU.
