The blast occurred at a base in the Hakkar region's Semdinli near borders with Iran and Iraq, the Hakari governor's office said in a statement.
“We have seven martyrs and 25 soldiers injured due to the” blast, Erdogan said before his departure to France for the commemoration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
“The officials are inspecting the country”, he said.
The defence ministry said on Friday that 25 soldiers were injured in the incident, firing heavy ammunition.
Turkey in recent months has carried out air strikes on Kurdistan Workers' Party bases <x0 sublaws in northern Iraq, especially in its castle in the Qandil Mountains, where Ankara has also threatened to carry out an ground offensive.
