Mitrovica's northern leader, Goran Rakiq, Leposaviqi's Zoran Todiq, Zubin Potok's chairman, Stevan Vulovic, and Zvecan chairman Vucina Jankovovic have stopped all communication with Kosovo institutions.
They have signed a joint declaration with several points in which they have presented the reasons for their decisions, writes Indexline.
1. The decision has been made because of raising the heel to 100 per cent for Serbian goods, through which Kosovo Serbs are threatened with the right to life, for recovery and survival, which leads to even deeper crisis”.
2. The declaration is signed due to continued violence, beating Serbs, unlawful arrests and trying to kill Milan Radojiciqi, which also jeopardises the right to Serb living in Kosovo”.
3. The violations of all international agreements, by Resolution 1244, the agreements in Brussels, on CEFTA”.
4. The decision has been taken “due to the violation of its acts on the part of Pristina, which should respect the rights of Serbs”.
Therefore, these municipalities are expected to go to extraordinary elections very soon.
The Law on Local Governance stipulates that one case that a president resigns, then within the deadline extraordinary elections are announced.
Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that the Central Election Commission (KQZ) has yet to officially accept the resignations of these northern leaders.
