Mladic breaks The Hague rules, speaks television live with his son

He spoke over the phone in a morning show with his son Darko, who would soon publish a book for the former general, broadcast Indesksonline.

The Hague Tribunal official Helena Egleston said Mladic has the right to communicate with family members, but any contact with the media should be approved by the tribunal secretariat.

Helena also said Ratko Mladic could receive sanctions for the move.

It's up to the secretariat to see if there's been any violations of the rules, then the secretariat will take certain measures” she said.

Mladic has been sentenced to life in prison by The Hague tribunal, but the former general has appealed the verdict. While the sentence on appeal of the convict is expected to be taken next year.
