Exhausted by the several weeks ' journey, thousands of caravan immigrants, men, women, and children, decided to rest in the towns of Juan Rodriguez Clara, Veracruz, and Isla, located about 60 miles [60 km] from their previous stop in Sayula.
They offered us 150 buses and finally lied to us, as they lied to us from the beginning. Organisers from Ciudad Hidalgo made promises of transportation, they're playing with our feelings”, says Augusto Ramirez, an immigrant from Honduras.
Another contingent decided to continue its journey to the town of Tierra Blanca, located about 130 miles [130 km] north.
The truth is they're not serious with us, because we've moved with our own resources. It doesn't make any difference whether they offer us transport tools or not. We want to continue our path”, says Marvin Toro, an immigrant from Honduras.
