Matoshi: Far more dangerous Pelleti than coal, especially from Serbia

The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has raised its concerns about the diaper imported in the country. Doubts increase when this product comes from Serbia.

Environment Minister Fatmir Matoshi has voiced doubts that imported diapers can also have harmful compounds, especially those coming from the neighbouring state.

This fuel contains rubber and coal.

In a statement to the KP, Matoshi has said the mobilization of relevant institutions is needed in order to control the quality of this fuel.

We have information that the diaper imported from Serbia is also very harmful, because it has been in tire and plastic compounds in large quantities since it burns. It is also extremely harmful. So, we've asked the Ministry of Trade and Industry to increase control at the border points to check the quality of the diaper. So, there are still alternatives to electricity, remains the alternative to wood, diapers and other alternatives, but especially public institutions should give up using coal”, Matosi said.

Even the chief chief of the Agency for Environmental Protection, Ilir Morina, says the diaper may be one of the causes of air pollution in the country.

He has made it known that they are investigating the diaper, but that he says it falls into the responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce.

A problem that the Agency is investigating is also the fabric product. We're suspecting, we've had checks in some restaurants we've seen in the chimneys, and we've been shown the certified diaper. It's a product that needs to be controlled by the Ministry of Commerce. And there seems to be extra products in that diaper to have more energy. It either has oil or coal, which can actually be very unhealthy. It could be more unhealthy than the coal we use”, Morina said.

The KP is also interested in receiving answers from the National Institute of Public Health about what danger the coat of rubber or coal for the health of citizens poses.

But the director of this institute, Naser Ramadani, has said that so far they have not conducted tests on the issue.

Otherwise, Kosova Prees has tried to contact the chief market inspector in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Lulzim Syla, but the same has been peaceful.

Currently, a large part of Kosovo's residents are heated with this fuel, and the price for a ton of diapers starts from 189 euros to 218 euros.
