For less than two hours MPs will be gathered once more in terms of the dialogue process with Serbia, President Hashim Thaci's idea for “correction of borders” between the two states respectively.
In the absence of quorum, the resolution proposed by the LDK failed to be put to the polls during the extraordinary session held yesterday.
The resolution, which is expected to be voted today by 10:00, has only one point aimed at stopping Thaci from negotiating territory, the KP writes.
Resolution:
Taking into account Kosovo's March 10, 2011, July 28, 2011, October 18, 2012, June 6, 2013, and December 26, 2016;
Given that we still don't have a debate and assessment on previous dialogue with Serbia 2011-2017, including the Kosovo Government Report on July 9th 2018 on the achievements and challenges of the dialogue agreements;
Taking into account the need for debate and internal consensus before the resumption of dialogue with Serbia;
Taking into account that we do not have the formal and institutional establishment of the Republic of Kosovo's demands for the Republic of Serbia, which does not recognise the independence of the Republic of Kosovo and is responsible for the losses, damages and suffering that have caused the people of Kosovo during the occupation and war;
Determined to preserve and protect citizenship and independence, sovereignty and constitutionality, the territorial and institutional integrity of the Republic of Kosovo;
Dedicated to integration and membership of the Republic of Kosovo before all in the EU, NATO and the UN;
Busy for good neighbourly relations with all Western Balkan countries, including the Republic of Serbia;
Aware of the population's concern for potential tensions, including the increased presence and activity of Serbian gendarmerie in the municipalities of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc;
Given that we do not have a common position or decision for principles, agenda and new dialogue format with Serbia;
Considering that the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaci, without a preliminary mandate from the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, has already discussed issues related to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo with his Serbian counterpart;
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo,
In support of Article 65.1 of the Constitution of Kosovo and Article 44, paragraph 4 of the Parliamentary Group of the Parliamentary Assembly (d) of the Parliamentary Assembly; after parliamentary debate held at the extraordinary session of October 31, 2018, with proposals from the LDK Parliamentary Group, the VV Parliamentary Group and the deputies of the Mimoza Kusari-Lila Alternative and Ilir Deda, agrees:
REZOLUA
1. The territory of the Republic of Kosovo is one and divisible, and that neither the president nor anyone else has the mandate to negotiate the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
