Kosovo in INTERPOL, possible mission

At this year's INTERPOL General Assembly, which will be held in Dubai from 18 November to 21 November, Kosovo expects broad support for becoming part of this organisation, Kosovo Government officials say. According to them, there are already very clear signals that Kosovo will have such support. [...]
Halil Matoshi, adviser to Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, tells Radio Free Europe that a broad support for accession to INTERPOL, Kosovo expects not only from its strategic partners and from the states that have recognised it, but also from, as he calls third states. According to him, INTERPOL member states have already received Kosovo's message that with its admission to this organisation, all win.
The only loser will be transnational crime. That's what everyone wins for. The region, but also in the global aspect of security, wins a reliable partner because security structures -- Kosovo Police, respectively -- have practically built the most creditable police and the best practices that exist in the world today, currently. Therefore, we hope that Kosovo will already be an equal member of the police organisation that fights international crime”, Matoshi said.
On the other hand, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has stressed that Kosovo has already managed to secure the necessary support for membership in INTERPOL. He has told media in Belgrade that, however, the Serbian state's diplomacy will try to prevent that from happening, despite seeing it as an impossible mission.
