Kosovo has created legal infrastructure to transfer products to foreign markets so that local producers can navigate in exporting their products.
So Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has declared today on the occasion of opening the second annual Kosovo Kidnapping Industry convention, for promotion of clothing producers, where 23 local companies held exhibitions made in Kosovo.
In this case, Haradinaj said they are committed to increasing co-operation between investors and producers in Kosovo.
The executive head said Kosovo's export according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry for the period 2016-2018 is around 20.5m euros, while import in the same period is 228.6m euros.
Seeing that exports are smaller and the price of clothing in import is twice as high, Haradinaj said it should be supported by producers with new bonds.
Haradinaj: We are committed to bringing foreign investors
“Export is 11 times smaller and the average price in import is twice as high as I said. In this context all these trends and data can be used to support producers, including our partners here, but we can then direct to this area of production activity, even the funds we have been visiting the Ministry of innovation. Like Government, we are willing to interact, so that our products of Kosovo, the achievements of our producers -- that is, the clothing industry -- to crack and not only that, we are also interested in bringing investors to you”, Haradinaj said.
It has stimulated local producers and foreign investors to produce in Kosovo, counting the facilities our country has for those who invest, such as zero tax on dyvindra; profiting 10 per cent, smaller in the region; paying tax does not exceed 10 per cent; it is zero tax with EU states; transport is cheaper than possible; and, of all this, it is certain that from a product produced in Kosovo, it will emerge and enter the EU market 30 per cent to 40 per cent cheaper than another product produced in Europe.
Charged with work on the US Mission in Pristina, College Hyland, said entrepreneurship has made Kosovo known in the clothing world.
Hyland: The entrepreneurship has made Kosovo known in the world of clothing
Your entrepreneurship, your ambition, has made Kosovo known in the clothing world. This industry looks forward and is highly motivated, is raising quality, intensifying products and increasing the quantity and quality of exports. This steady growth is the most important thing, and it has created 450 new jobs in the industry. Companies of this sector in Kosovo can be proud of achievements and of the production of global interiors”, she said.
The head of the Swedish Embassy's Co-operation for Development, Nasrin Pourgzian, announced that they have three objectives in their strategy, increased economic integration with the EU and market development, strengthening democracy and environmental and climate change.
Pourghazian: The clothing industry has helped improve standard of living
In addition to jobs, we can see clear links even between raising the standard of living for marginalised groups, as well as improvements in health and education field”, she stressed.
Whitea Sadrija, head of the association KAMA, an optimist said that in meeting the standards on the part of producers, the latter will have even greater opportunities for expansion on the external market.
Saddam: Globalizing affects job creation
I strongly believe in the potential of expanding the market for local producers. As we become global, we influence the creation of jobs, we influence the advancement of production technology, we influence the development of economy and society”, she said.
Kosovo's Chambers Convention is organised annually to promote clothing producers and to support the growth of this industry in Kosovo.
The event offers a networking platform for Kosovo's clothing producers, government agencies, donors, international buyers and all relevant clothing industry activists.
