Haziri: Before May 2019; there is no date for visa liberalisation

Leaders of European Union countries (BE) and local leaders have expressed sceptical that Kosovo will receive liberalisation this year.

LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri has voiced sceptical of visa liberalisation for this year. He has even said that Kosovo will not get a visa-free date before next May.

Haziri says that during the meeting with European People's Partys in Helsinki, they have not seen discomunication for Kosovo to be part of the agenda this year.

He has accused the ruling coalition of failing to build consensus for dialogue and is failing to obtain visa liberalisation as well.

I just returned with the LDK delegation from Helsinki. It was the European People's Party Congress. European People's Partys lead Europe, I have not seen at any meeting with any authority that Kosovo can succeed in the Council of Ministers in December of this year. Unfortunately, the problem is in Pristina, it relates to the last agenda that has been sought on the pillar of rule of law that Kosovo has implemented all obligations”, Haziri has said.

The “Technical criteria have been met, but the additional criteria left in Pristina have not succeeded in implementation. The tendency the Government has recovered during these days has been included in the demand for extraordinary hearings and for the quick adoption mechanism of laws stemming from the ERA package, and these are trends that have helped the Council of Ministers of Kosovo put me in the agenda. I am skeptical that Kosovo will get the date before May of next year”, he added later.

According to Haziri, The PAN as a governing coalition has failed to build consensus for dialogue and is failing to get the visa liberalisation date.

“I don't know what more needs to happen in Kosovo that caused early elections with the agreement. My appeal is to sit the majority parties at the table to deal with this country's important processes and the early date of the Assembly elections”, Haziri has said.

Gjilan's leader, says the opposition is committed to the collapse of the government, as long as the potential welcomes each party, including the Serbian List, reports EO.

“We're doing our job, we're opposition, we're engaged that either by political agreement to bring early elections to include the list of big processes that include dialogue or no-confidence motions, on one of the streets we've succeeded. We do not join anyone's initiatives instead they can join the LDK initiative that has been taken this year -- an initiative that is together with Vetevendosje and PSD”, Haziri said.

“All the others that need to be together I can tell you that the address is on the third floor of the Kosovo Parliamentary Group in the LDK can be announced can sign the no-confidence motion”, he said, Online Economy.

As regards the reception made to President Hashim Thaci in France, he said such a reception has been made to Kosovo and not to the president as a proper name.

The “so this manifesto with its protocol approach to Kosovo in France is to greet. It has not made you a proper name that does not relate to one man, it relates to the presidency, it relates to Kosovo. It is represented there by Kosovo, and meetings that have been in the context of this go on these margins”, Haziri said.

Serbia's “Tenndence with the return of Kosovo's culture and Euro-Atlantic orientation cannot cause any political party or one man to Kosovo. Furthermore, what we have done together as a collective population and not only that Kosovo but also Albanians in the Balkans have one-story orientation is invincible and irreversible”, Haziri said at the end.
