Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has said that thermal power plant “New Kosovo” is a powerful instrument providing new development prospects for the country's economy.
“With Joseph Brandt from the prestigious American company “Contour Global”, we discussed the modalities for the start of building this major project, through which independence and energy stability are guaranteed in Kosovo”, wrote Haradinaj in his official Facebook profile.
In the context of the meeting, Haradinaj says, it was announced for the improvement of all aspects for the realisation of the “New Kosovo”.
“Morra confirmed that everything is going according to the previous plan” has ended Haradinaj.
Despite that, the Government of Kosovo has the only hope for financing construction of the “New Kosovo” currently in the US Private Foreign Investment Corporation (OPIC).
Since, shortly after the World Bank announced that it will not support this project, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has reiterated that it will not finance projects that violate EURZH energy policy.
“The EBRD does not consider this project” is the answer to averting all dilemmas if it can make an exception to financially supporting a thermal power plant that violates EURZH's energy financing policy.
